MG696 hot bituminous mastic

The consumption amount of hot bituminous mastic of MG696 execution can be calculated depending on the volume of the section and the specific weight of the mastic. Normally, about 2 kg is used for a width of 2 cm and a depth of 2 cm and a length of one meter.

All seams must be completely clean and free from contamination.
Heating the mastic at a temperature of 130 to 150 degrees Celsius, the temperature should not exceed 160 degrees to obtain a homogeneous and pourable mixture. The heat transfer to all the melted oil and material must be thermostatically controlled, otherwise there is a risk of overheating and the material may solidify before pouring.
It is recommended to first pour a small amount of mastic in the heating pot and add it gradually after initial melting. The application of hot mastic is done by a melting device with a pump or interface and special nozzles, and in sensitive cases or minor works, metal buckets are used in a special cover.
